Hi Karnatriix..
I am so much into your song "excorcism" that after two years of listening to it, I had to write down the imagery that came to me...thought I should pass it on (in awe)... thank you for making music like this..it instills faith that there is a mystery to life and all that's around us...thanks again....
Narayana Kumar
Exorcism:
The newborn sun shimmers.
Gold dust lies scattered
in the waters of
a desolate pond...
Sparkling rays quiver in the green water,
as if they were
celestial strings being
played somewhere ...
a cool breeze wafts
like a woman fanning herself....
bearded souls from the past
trapeze from the
surrounding trees;
they gesture and argue as they fly.
upside down, they hang like bats
and see the world the way it really is..
Under one of these trees,
a young man sits
with his eyes closed ...
a woman towels herself languidly,
as she emerges from the water..
she fixes her eyes on the yogi
and walks past..
clad in wet white,
she ambles down a
narrow mud path
shouldered by bamboo fences..
can you hear the crickets,
the bees and all those birds?
the cobwebs on the leaves
of a jackfruit tree
shake in the breeze,
threatening to dislodge the spiders...
lazily, a cow sways its tail
as it grazes under a coconut tree
even as
flies tickle its back..
still walking, the woman smiles at herself..
(tathi thang tarikita gina thom):
the frogs in the pond frolic in ecstasy
as a godess clad in rain
lands on the leaves floating around...
thathi thaang..tarikita gina.thom..
Half immersed in the water, the yogi
searches his brow and slowly dissolves:
"aaaaaaaahh....naaa...aaaaa..aaaahna.aaa."
a gust of wind
burst through the woods
in an electric frenzy;
like a man in heat
it burnt everything down in
a surging forest fire....
the trees are ablaze;
they slowly turn into
smouldering pieces of wood...
when he opened his eyes,
the earth was covered in ash...
ends
Thank you Karnatriix

Namaste’, a 45 minute album released in 2008 in India by Indiabeat and distributed by EMI/Virgin was widely acclaimed due to the experimental nature of the compositions and production. The songs woven together under a perception of a ‘trip from dawn to dusk, a dialogue between man and nature and a link between the known and the unknown’ is considered as one of the best concept albums to have come out of the Indian subcontinent. ‘Namaste’ was successful in topping Planet M Charts for two weeks in a row in the New Age/World Music Category. Other than the original mellifluous compositions like Exorcism, Namaste and Delicately Tuned, the album also consisted of the band’s interpretation of Saint Thyagaraja’s ancient masterpiece - Entharo Mahanubhavalu.
