kARNATRiix is a World Music/ New Age band from India.
kARNATRiix features John Anthony on guitars, Ustad Faiyaz Ahamed Khan on vocals/sarangi and “Darbuka” Siva on percussion.
John Anthony plays guitar influenced by Indian classical music, rock and jazz.
Faiyaz sings North Indian Classical Music (Hindustani) plays tabla and the traditional instrument, Sarangi.
Siva plays congas, timbales, the cajon, middle-eastern derbouka , bongos, the Egyptian doumbek, the African djembe, the tabla, ghatam, dholand the dholak and an assortment cymbals. DJ Machine provides backing for the band – ambience sounds, bass, keys and drum tracks.
Karnatriix can be included under World Music, New age.
First album - Namaste - released and distributed in India by EMI/Virgin (label - India Beats), topped the World Music / New Age charts in India.
